About Beth Vincent

Career coaching across the lifespan. Rooted in empathy, clarity, and growth.

About

I'm Beth Vincent, Ph.D.— a Raleigh native, educator, and career coach who helps people make sense of what’s next in their work lives. With more than a decade of experience in career coaching and over eight years teaching graduate counseling students, I bring a mix of honest conversation, practical tools, and compassionate strategy to every session.

I believe your career should support your life, not consume it. That belief shows up in how I coach: with empathy, structure, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. Outside of work, I recharge by being outdoors — running the Raleigh greenways, riding my bike, or exploring new trails with my dog, Riley. I'm also someone who deeply values connection, and there's nothing better than a long walk or a good meal shared with friends who feel like family.

Your work should fit your life, not the other way around. Let’s build a career that works for you.

My Approach

My style is warm, honest, and grounded. As a mental health-informed career coach, I'm someone who can sit with you through the hard questions and help you move forward with clarity. Clients describe me as approachable, steady, and practical. I believe in:

Honoring the whole person both professional & personal

Making space for curiosity & growth

Creating thoughtful structure without pressure

Delivering tangible takeaways to reach goals

Why I do this work

I’ve seen how easy it is to feel uncertain, disconnected, or stuck — even when you’re doing everything you’re “supposed” to be doing. Whether you’re exploring what’s next, navigating burnout, or rethinking the path you’re on, these moments are often less about weakness and more about being ready for something different.

My own career shifts taught me just how connected our work is to our identity, well-being, and sense of purpose. That insight has shaped the way I coach — with care, honesty, and a belief that real clarity comes from slowing down and asking the right questions.

This work is personal to me, and I don’t take it lightly. I’m here to walk alongside you as you explore, reflect, plan, and move forward on your terms.

Why work with me

Navigating career decisions can feel overwhelming, isolating, and uncertain. My role is to help you build clarity, create a customized strategy, and take confident action toward your goals — whether you're just starting out, changing directions, or finding your way back to meaningful work.

I bring over a decade of experience across clinical, academic, and real-world career development spaces. With a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I’m equipped to offer both structure and deep individualized support.

When you work with me, you’re not getting a one-size-fits-all program — you’re getting thoughtful, personalized coaching that honors both your professional goals and your lived experiences. Together, we'll build a career path that feels achievable, grounded, and authentic to who you are.

Career Support Across the Lifespan

I work with people at all stages of their career journey:

  • High school and college students making big decisions about the future

  • New graduates unsure how to turn a degree into a direction

  • Early- and mid-career professionals feeling stuck, burned out, or ready for something different

  • Seasoned professionals navigating career pivots, legacy work, or life after retirement

Whether you're just getting started, changing direction, or trying to reconnect with meaning in your work, I’m here to help you sort through what matters, what’s next, and how to get there in a way that feels like you.

Diversity, Equity & Social Justice

Commitment

In helping spaces, it is essential to both value and take action to support the diverse identities that people hold. My commitment to you is to provide support from an individualized perspective that honors and incorporates your identities and the many ways they intersect. I know that how your identity shows up in your life will be unique to you. I will structure our work with that understanding at the forefront, beginning with our first consult call and continuing as we set goals and take action to create change in your life.

I know I won’t always get it right, but I am committed to doing right in my practice. That means learning from my own mistakes on an individual level, as well as showing up as an advocate in our community. My promise to you is that I will continue to learn and grow as a person who resides in a white, cisgender female body and to take personal responsibility for that growth process. I look forward to celebrating all parts of you and working together to ensure our collaboration supports the life and career you want to build.
